How to Clean Your Puffco and Glass

Choosing Third-Party Puffco Glass and Accessories
Third-party glass can make a Puffco setup more personal, but appearance should not be the only consideration. A good attachment must fit the exact device, seal correctly and remain stable during normal use.
Fit, Airflow, Stability and Maintenance
Start with exact compatibility
“Fits Puffco” is not specific enough. Confirm whether the piece is made for Peak or Peak Pro, Proxy, Pivot with an appropriate glass adapter, or a particular device generation. Peak-style glass, Proxy pieces and Pivot adapters use different mounting systems. Never force a part that does not seat naturally.
Dry or water-filtered glass
Dry tops are generally compact, simple and easy to maintain. Water attachments add water filtration but require more attention to fill level, transport and cleaning. For water glass, look for a clearly marked or easily understood fill level. Water should remain in the intended chamber when the piece is upright and should not reach the electronic base.
Check weight and balance
Large glass is not automatically better. Consider the center of gravity, width of the base, clearance around the chamber and controls, whether the device remains stable on a flat surface, and how the piece will be stored or transported. A sculptural attachment may be ideal for a display setup but inconvenient for daily movement.
Consider airflow
Different attachments can feel more open or restricted. Neither is automatically superior. The best choice depends on the device, chamber, cap and the draw style the glassmaker designed around. Avoid assuming that the largest piece or widest air path will produce the best result.
Understand maintenance before buying
Ask whether the piece can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol and whether it contains painted, electroplated, sandblasted or delicate decorative areas. Complex recyclers and narrow internal paths may require more cleaning time than a simple top.
A useful listing should identify the compatible device and generation, dimensions, dry or water use, artist or manufacturer, care instructions and any special adapter required.
